RESCUES need a home that understands they have already been abandoned. PLEASE do not entertain a rescue cat if you are just looking to get an Abyssinian for less money. These are special cats who have special needs. You must be committed to them and understand that they need a family that will love them as they are, know they have come from some kind of trauma, and need patient humans so they can bond and feel safe. Each one of them has their own personality, responds to worry in different ways, and is unique in their stories. They need acceptance and a family that will welcome them as they are.
We have 1 Rescue Aby currently (3/2025). We had 3 Rescues adopted this month!!! So happy for each one that has found their forever home – and – a special thank you the wonderful families who are willing to put forth the energy and love a rescue needs. Thank you!
- Red/Cinnamon: 3-4 years old. She is scheduled to be spayed. She absolutely must be your only pet. She does NOT like dogs and she will bully other cats. With that said she is a very loyal human friend. She will be your best friend. She is very affectionate with an attitude of being a royal princess. Please only inquire if she will be the only pet in your home, she needs this to be her wonderful self. She also loves treats, especially freeze-dried liver or minnows. She needs an active home and absolutely will require a “One Fast Cat Wheel.” If she was human, she would be a marathon runner. She will be very attached to her human or human family. She needs activity. If she feels bored or anxious, she will pull her fur out. She would do well with a family who could take her out on walks (harness and leash).

We match rescues with people. We do not just let people pick a kitty from a picture. This is an Aby’s second chance, and we want it to be their last and final home. These special spirits will need homes that match their needs, and that might be exactly you and your home and your family – every Aby has their own unique personality as well as lots of typical Aby traits. But just like humans, we don’t always get along with every group, every person, or every scenario. So let us be the match-maker… and then you can meet and decide if you think you are indeed the forever family/person for this Rescue. We thank you for understanding our adoption process.
